Sam L. Jantzen, Jr.

Sam L. Jantzen, Jr. is Chief Operating Officer of Raisbeck Engineering, Inc.

Mr. Jantzen began pursuing his interest in aviation during high school as he earned his private pilot license. He later earned his commercial license, multi-engine rating, instructor's rating, instrument rating, and instrument instructor's rating.

Jantzen graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business. Jantzen focused his studies in marketing, accounting and sociology.

At OSU, Jantzen served as a staff instructor in the university's Department of Aviation Education. He taught private, commercial, instrument, and instructor students. He also taught Reserved Officers Training Corp (ROTC) flight students. During his last year of college, Jantzen was awarded the authorization to perform the FAA check rides for the school's private pilot candidates.

During the summer months, Jantzen flew for a small charter company and had his first introduction to national politics. One of Jantzen's assignments was to fly a United States Congressman to see the constituency in his area.

After graduating, Jantzen joined Cessna Aircraft Company. At Cessna, Jantzen held a number of different sales, marketing and management positions over a fourteen year period. His responsibilities ranged from working with dealers on various aspects of financial management to selling private, corporate, commercial aircraft and military aircraft, to managing a domestic wholesale distributorship to assisting company field staff, distributor and dealer network. While at Cessna, Jantzen served as International Sales Manager where he reorganized the company's contracted distribution system and consummated the largest fleet aircraft sale to date. Later, as Division General Manager, he launched the new Conquest Marketing Division for the company.

Jantzen left Cessna and became Vice President of Business Aircraft Marketing for Fairchild Aircraft Company.

Subsequently, Jantzen joined a savings and loan company in Texas. The company had acquired several aviation Fixed Based Operations, which were all in financial difficulty. Jantzen was responsible for taking over the worst of the failing companies and return it to operational and financial stability. After eighteen months, a company that had been losing approximately $3.5 million a year had turned the corner and recorded profit for the first time in four years.

Six years later, Jantzen opened Avstar International in Colorado. Avstar was primarily an aircraft sales and aircraft business consulting company. It was established to pursue aircraft brokerage in the domestic and international marketplace and to engage in management consulting opportunities for primarily new international business ventures, while he attended Colorado State University to obtain his Masters Degree in Business Administration.

In 1994, Jantzen became co-owner of a family owned custom homebuilding company located in Virginia. Jantzen held the position of Vice President Sales and Marketing and co-managed the company. During the years of operation his accomplishments included developing marketing programs which assisted the company in growing from construction in one community in 1994 to five new communities by 2001. He increased annual sales to $10 million by 2000.

In 2002, Jantzen became Vice President Marketing and Sales for Commuter Air Technology, an aircraft component design, modification and marketing company. His responsibilities included developing new marketing collateral material and brochures, launching new media advertising, direct mail and tradeshow convention activities to improve market penetration and sales, hired and trained staff for the new company positions and increased CATPASS Enhancement Product sales by 20 and 25 percent respectively over the years of 2003 and 2004.

Jantzen joined Raisbeck Engineering in early 2005 as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. On January 1, 2006, he was promoted to Vice President and General Manager of the company. On January 9, 2008, Jantzen was named Chief Operating Officer.
